About the Journal

Focus and Scope

The Newcastle Business School Student Journal is a student-led peer-reviewed scholarly journal which encompasses a wide range of topics from within the Newcastle Business School (NBS). These topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Economics
  • Entrepreneurship and innovation
  • Governance, policy and political economy
  • Human resource management
  • International business
  • Leadership and management
  • Marketing
  • Tourism management
  • Sports management
  • Accounting
  • Actuarial studies and risk management
  • Finance.

Papers will be received for submission by UoN students who are engaged in an undergraduate or post-graduate level of study in an NBS-related discipline.

Peer Review Process

The Newcastle Business School Student Journal considers manuscripts on the condition that they have only been submitted to the Newcastle Business School Student Journal. The Journal will follow a double blind peer review process (i.e. two versions, one de-identified for reviewers).

Publication Frequency

Typically, the Journal will publish two volumes per year. Each issue will be published at the beginning of a semester – i.e. Week 1 Semester 1 and Week 1 Semester 2. This will be in February/March and June/July respectively of each year. Allowances may be made for special issues, etc.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater exchange of content.

Journal History

The Newcastle Business School Student Journal is a student-led peer-reviewed scholarly journal which encompasses a wide range of topics from within the Newcastle Business School (NBS).

These topics include, but are not limited to: economics, entrepreneurship and innovation, governance, policy and political economy, human resource management, international busines, leadership and management, marketing, tourism management, sports management, accounting, actuarial studies and risk management, and finance.

Papers are submitted by students of the NBS who are engaged in an undergraduate or post-graduate level of study.

Alternate Title information: Vol 1, Issue 1 (only) of the Newcastle Business School Student Journal has an alternate journal title which is The University of Newcastle Student Business Journal. All volumes and issues of the journal are published with the title Newcastle Business School Student Journal.
