Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word, RTF, or PDF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.

Guide to Contributors

All contributors are asked to provide a short cover letter which includes a brief biography and informs Kulumun: Journal of the Wollotuka Institute that relevant ethics and intellectual property clearances have been attained where applicable. Journal articles ranging from 3,000 to 5,000 words and book reviews of 500 to 1500 words will be considered for publication. Manuscripts and reviews must be double spaced, include title page and page numbers, Times New Roman (12 font) and be original work. Any submissions which do not concur will be returned immediately to the author. We expect contributors to acknowledge all intellectual property rights and take ethical and legal responsibility for all submissions.

Ethics Clearance and Copyright

If a submission is based on interaction or contact with people subjects it is requested that authors should declare in writing that they have received approval from their respective institution in the cover letter. Email is sufficient to meet this requirement. As well, all contributors should state that they have copyright clearances where applicable.

Submission Procedure

Kulumun: Journal of the Wollotuka Institute accepts online submissions by email as a single attachment in Microsoft Word, RTF or Adobe Portable Document Format (pdf file). Upon receipt the author will be notified. Following peer review the submission will be accepted or returned to the author for corrections. The decision to approve or reject a submission will be made by the editorial committee. The editorial committee reserves the right to determine manuscripts and reviews for publication.

Abstract

All submissions with the exception of book reviews must include an abstract that states concisely the aim of the research, methodology and findings of the research. The abstract is to be around 300 words. The abstract needs to provide a precise overview of the manuscript.

Referencing Styles

Kulumun: Journal of the Wollotuka Institute accepts submissions in the APA style. Footnotes should be kept concise, and a reference list or bibliography needs to be included in the submission.
